Racing horse names are funny. After checking out the nearby trails, and being frightened half to death by ticks, I wanted to check this place out for my Friday dinner. Called and ordered the Crispy Calamari and the Pork Osso Buco, coming to a whopping $54, quite pricy, so I had pretty high expectations. Back home, I dug into both after a tick searching shower, and had mixed reactions. The calamari was crispy, paired well with the sauce, but had almost zero flavor itself. Very underwhelming. The pork however was fall-off-the-bone good, matching well with the mashed potatoes and mushrooms. The green beans felt super undercooked, like they were blanched, because boy were they crunchy. That said, was it $54 good, no. It had a ton of meat, but the flavor was pretty muted, needing the sides to bring it to life. It was just, ok. Saddest part of this meal was that boring and dry bread they included, unbuttered, no garlic, not toasted or fresh, just looking and tasting like white bread from a bag. Not sure what it was for, but if that is suppose to be complimentary, I prefer you hold your applause. Overall, kind of overpriced, service took about 10 minutes longer than I was initially told over the phone, and while the quality was good it all lacked some frontline flavors.
We traveled 50 minutes to try this place as “google” mentioned it as one of the top 5 places in NY for delicious pizza. This place nailed it. Wings and pizza were delicious, we had several different kinds of pizza as our server mentioned we can do half of one gourmet pizza on one side and another on the other side. Crust, sauce and cheese hit every note possible. The server Kiaya was extremely friendly and efficient. We would def travel back there for more.
Have been here for dinner twice in the past month. First time we had meals, linguine with clam sauce, shrimp and scallops Antonio, both were excellent, calamari was abundant and delicious. Second time we stopped in for pizza, the works. Pizza was very good. Service the first time was very good but the second time we had an older female and she was not very good at all. Would recommend if you are in the mood for good food or pizza.
